                         SABER Intercooler R-Spec Front Mount kit

SABER has spent 2 years time on the development and testing of the intercooler kit for the Subaru GDB WRX / STi 00-05 WRX, and we finally completed the new SABER Intercooler R-Spec Front Mount kit. And our SABER Intercooler is one of the largest commercially available system in the world to suit the latest WRX / STi.

The SABER GDB WRX Kit was tested on an Australian spec MY01 Subaru WRX with the factory ECU boost controller. The test day was a very hot day, temperature was well over 30 degrees. And a base-line power run was performed with the factory boost 13psi and the standard top mount intercooler, it achieved 127.5kw at all 4 wheels.

After our SABER Intercooler R-Spec Front Mount kit was installed, a MASSIVE intercooler size of nearly 3 times as big as the original top mount item, 800 x 210 x 100mm to provide maximum cooling capability and high flow efficiency, the turbo doesnt have to work as hard to create more power. The power straight away climbed up to a WHOPPING 142.2kw at all 4 wheels with only 12 psi of boost, that is a massive 12% power gain of 15kw through our SABER intercooler alone (about 40kw power gain at the engine).

Please notice the power gains from down low to mid rev range on the dyno graph, the turbo spools up much earlier with a lot less lag which on the road represents much better acceleration. All this WITHOUT even touching the factory boost setting!

Further, our SABER Intercooler piping are all mandrel bent with the shortest route possible, designed to allow faster and smoother air flow, which means more power and better drivability.
